ajah, aku pun ada gambar bunga ni jugak lah.ha3salam.
sambungan perkongsian
conference yang lepas.
antara
key adressing yang menarik minat dan yang paling faham, ialah
Keynote Address: "
Jihad in Europe", Professor Tariq Ramadan, University of Oxford Basically, Prof.
There are four keys, or main points in defining Jihad
- Targets
- conditions
- Means
- Goals
For the first key Target, what or who is our enemy? It can be our bad nafs if we are doing jihad within ourselves, or it can be anyone. We must clear of what or whom is our enemy.
The second key point is Conditions. In arabic it is called waqi'. (lupa dah apa Prof. tu bagitahu)
The third key point is Means. He pointed out that this is the one point that many people has misleaded and misunderstood. Many people did understand other key points correctly but not this important one. There is a hadith saying about this. (alamak, lupa dah apa, tapi dalam bahasa melayu maksud nya, maklamat tidak menghalalkan cara). Means are not simply legitimize by the final purpose. So, that means, even if we are not satisfied with the suppression of Islam by the enemy or people who don't understand Islam, we cannot and not allowed to react randomly/violencely against it. We cannot simply burn people's property or killing the innocent. What we need to do is to react in the way that is legal in Islam and within the law of the nation. Here, we as a muslim really need to learn controlling the anger. It is understood that we are feeling so stress, angry, sad and sympathetic on what is happening to our brothers and sisters in Gaza, for an example. But, our reactions towards it have been the mirror of Islam and been analysed by the people of the other faiths. If we, reacts so emotionally towards the propaganda and follow the anger , it by any chance reflects our faith.(even though Islam didn't promote, even prohibited us to follow the anger as syaitan loves anger). So, we might be thinking of protesting violently/ showing to the world that we are not ignorance of what's going on at the other side of the sea, and that we are no longer a bait to play with. But at the end, we are just making our non-muslim friend's misunderstanding grow. It just somewhat tally to what had embedded in their heads from their past perception.Instead of that, we can react in a more proper manner, by writing letters to the people-in-charge or making peace road demonstrations to show to the world of what we are believing and stand at.
The last main points is Goal. What are we looking for after days of struggling, facing opponents? obviously, we are looking for peace. No one wants the situation worsen than before.(maybe there is an exception for some people who loves manipulating other people's hardship). And Islam is a faith for all the people, and everything in Islam leads people towards eternal peace.
So, if we combining the four key points of the definition. Jihad means
A struggle against (X=target) for (x=goal) towards peace via (X=means)
Another one important part of his speech is when he introduce the concept of
Resistant and Reform for the Muslim all over the world in facing the current issues or situation of the world. He elaborated that phrase as
to resist what is bad and to reform what is good and it is another way of interpreting the phrase
"Al-amru bil maaruf wan nahyu anil munkar" (mengajak kebaikan dan mencegah kemunkaran). The underlying ideas is muslims need to understand the conditions of Islam in the recent world, like it or nor, the fact that where we are the minority group is undeniable. So, even if we are trying to speak aloud, our voice might not reach the people of the whole world(or maybe it can reach them but after all the alterations made). So, what we need to do, is the
resist what is bad, to be be patience of what is going on-manage the anger and to reform what is good by slowly educate people, Muslims and non-muslims of the real meaning of Islam. It does takes time, but it is the best way to react in this state of world.(this is his explaination of the key point no 2, conditions)
I got a chance to ask him about Palestinian-Israeli conflicts. At first, I was pretty agree with him. But when I tried to apply the concept of Resistant and Reform to them(Palestinian-Israeli), I found it was really hard to me when I started to imagine all the violences they endured for the last 60 years. How can we ask them to resist? We aren't in their positions. We won't never be able to understand their wounds and pains. (I was a bit emotional when speaking with him.ha3.-he just pointed in his speech that muslims shouldn't be emotional when dealing with this kind of emotional thing. ha3. I failed!)
Tariq Ramadhan just simpy said to me that "yes, the Palestinian people need to resist!" And I remember saying I didn't agree with him and looking to him with a such disagreement look. I then share my thought(ok2. the emotional part of me actually) and he asked me to read the articles he posted in his
blog. After I went to many talks, I finally agree with him! at last!
so, what I can suggest to all of my friends out there, let us be more rationale, and let us do dakwah in educating people either through action or words. Shifting the paradigm. That is the best conclusion to summarize the whole long elaborations above.
semoga bermanfaat.
